As amazing as it is that they're so knowledgeable about technology, we rarely see them without a screen somewhere in the immediate area. Sure, this isn't a great thing. However, it can also open up the opportunity for bonding.

Start a conversation by asking them about their favorite games, what they have to do in the game, what their favorite parts of the game are and what parts they find the most challenging. It can lead to deeper and more rewarding subjects.

You can also try to play with them. Granted, video games can be complicated. However, you do not need to deal with extremely difficult games. Instead, you can even play word games and puzzles on mobile devices. There are easy games out there, and you can join in the fun with just a quick explanation from your grandchildren, which will also keep the conversation going.

Sometimes it can be difficult to start conversations with grandchildren. However, by showing an interest in their activities and interests, you will demonstrate that you care and want to develop a loving and friendly relationship.
